  • Chateau Marmont Hotel

    Chateau Marmont

    Hollywood, CA, USA

"A magnificently haunted gothic oasis on the Sunset Strip, portaling you back to the golden light of old Hollywood. Memorable for its dark, decadent lobby lounge, with its vaulted ceilings and gothic arches, as well as its cozy pool area and garden restaurant (serving sublime frites and tuna)."

  • Chateau Les Crayères Hotel

    Chateau Les Crayeres

    Reims, Champagne, France

"The elegant, indulgent soul of Champagne in the form of a country chateau. A romantic, movie-set-caliber base for exploring the world’s wellspring of bubbly. The property houses its own extraordinary Michelin three-star resto, and several major Champagne houses are in staggering distance."

  • Hotel Vitale

    Hotel Vitale

    San Francisco, CA, USA

"A bright and chic California vibe animates this relatively new property, which pleases in all directions: soaring San Francisco Bay views (especially from one of the 270-degree-view suites), luxe linens, spacious, well-appointed bathrooms, cutting-edge electronics. Across the street is the epicurean nirvana of the Ferry Building Marketplace and a block away lies the dim sum orgy called Yank Sing."

  • Le Saint James Hotel

    Le St James Hotel

    Montreal, Québec, Canada

"The Great White North meets the Great Gatsby, where the mood is opulent and old school, but without the attitude. A stately snug harbor on the edge of Old Montreal, and the perfect perch from which to explore this irresistible and BYOB-friendly city."

  • Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain

    Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain

    Scottsdale, AZ, USA

"An otherworldly, secluded spa retreat, which immediately soothes the senses with the omnipresent aroma of lemongrass and commanding views of the region’s red-rock pinnacles. Its centerpiece is a huge, oriental-themed spa with Watsu pool and saltwater lap pool. Couples should call ahead to book the “sanctum,” a private, roofless treatment suite with its own whirlpool, fire pit, and — best of all — room service."
