Our selection covers a wide range of styles, atmosphere, and prices. Many of these properties have received praise locally and internationally for years, while many others are recent discoveries.
Most are independent "boutique" properties, though outstanding hotels that are also members of chains may be included on an individual basis.
The key is that all Tablet Hotels offer their guests a unique and exceptional experience.

The Selection Process

In order to guarantee the high quality of that experience, we make sure that no hotel becomes a Tablet Hotel before passing our rigorous selection process, consisting of:

Anonymous visits by at least one member of our network of experts
Receipt, from the hotel, of the widest possible selection of digital photos
Review of experts' visit reports by the Selection Committee
Vote by the members of the Committee

Once a hotel is selected, there are no fees for membership. Tablet only charges a travel agency commission, for actual stays only, for bookings made on its site. Hotels are invoiced monthly for all stays completed during the prior month.

The only criteria necessary for remaining on Tablet Hotels are the following::

The hotel's average overall score on the Tablet Hotels Meter must remain above 15 out of a possible 20.
The hotel must maintain rate parity for Tablet Hotels users with any other distribution channel.
Agency commissions must be paid in a timely manner.

High-resolution images: It is important that photos be submitted by CD or email at the time of the application. The digital photos enable our committee to convene remotely, greatly accelerating the selection process as well as the subsequent construction of the selected hotel's dedicated web page on Tablet Hotels.

Decision: Tablet will advise Hotel of its selection decision within two months of Hotel's submission of its application.

Online Inventory

In order to be featured on Tablet Hotels, your hotel must offer some method of electronic access to room inventory, including promotional and corporate rates (if any). At present there are two options:

If your hotel is loaded on Pegasus by your GDS provider, then you don't need to do anything. We will have the same access to your inventory as any travel agent, and after an initial observation period, we can explore together ways to enhance this relationship.
If your hotel is not present on Pegasus, we have a simple and easy-to-use web-based extranet available at no extra cost.

Editorial Control

Tablet Hotels retains full editorial control over the written description and photo editing, in order to present consistent site-wide standards. We do, however, encourage input as to the accuracy of the information displayed.

Application Fee

There is a one-time, non-refundable charge of US$195.0 for administrative fees for the application to be reviewed by Tablet. It is not refundable, regardless of Tablet's selection decision of the application.
