Flouting the twin conventions of stereotypical Mexican resorts — the one-size-fits-all mega-retreat for vacationing families or the rowdy, beer-soaked spring break hotspot — Zoëtry Casa del Mar is an eco/wellness retreat aimed squarely at couples, honeymooners, and the kinds of corporations that sponsor high-end spa trips rather than company picnics. As such it offers respite from screaming children of all ages, from babies to college kids, and provides a haven for adults seeking rejuvenation and peace.

Zoëtry Casa del Mar consists of thirty-two suites at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. The hotel proper is oriented in such a way as to afford each guest a view of the Sea of Cortes from the private, teak-furnished terrace attached to every suite. The rooms are airy and spacious, and the palette of creams and tans blends perfectly with the darker, richer wood of the tables and chairs. Bathrooms are marble, with rain showers and jacuzzis.

The true genius of Zoëtry is its ability to combine an all-inclusive fee model with a boutique-hotel atmosphere. How to get there: The resort is located 30km/18.5 miles from Los Cabos International Airport (about a 25 min drive). Take the Cabo San Lucas Road (Toll Road), make a right on Carretera Transpeninsular direction Cabo San Lucas. On km 19.5, make a left to get to the resort.
