Please note:
Jashita Hotel will be closed from October 1st to 13th.
Just south of the mega-resorts of Cancun and the string of hip boutique hotels on Playa del Carmen is Tulum, one of the Riviera Maya’s quieter beach hideaways. Sure, there’s tourist traffic, but they’re here for the Mayan ruins, not the all-you-can-drink margarita special at the pool bar.
It’s fitting, then, that Jashita — perched on the shore of the Caribbean just up the beach from the pre-Columbian archeological site — is a small, sophisticated hotel where the pared-down decor echoes the calm of the sky and sea. The look is relaxed and contemporary, with beach-inspired straw loveseats, airy bathrooms, and pillow-topped sofas in shades of pale sand and bright seashell white. Standard rooms face the garden, but all suites are oceanfront and feature a more dramatic look — fluttering white canopies over king-sized beds, palapa-style ceilings, complimentary prosecco chilling in ice buckets on spacious private terraces. Guest rooms in all categories come with an appealing range of amenities from Italian bathrobes and snorkeling equipment to wi-fi access and iPod stations.
Outside, there’s a beach palapa, a small cafe and restaurant, and a swimming pool with a view of the aquamarine ocean beyond. Some guests, quite understandably, never leave the hotel premises; others venture out to sea to snorkel, dive, or fish around the coral reef. Anyone who feels the need to take a break from the peace and quiet of Jashita — and hobnob with stylish Italians on their own vacations — can head straight for the beach clubs and bars of nearby Playa del Carmen.
How to get there:
Jashita Hotel is 120 km (about 1h 20min) from Cancun International Airport. Transfers can be arranged for USD 80 per guest, USD 100 for up to 2 guests and USD100 for up to 4 guests. Please contact CustomerService@TabletHotels.com for assistance with airport transfers.
