Cape Town, South Africa

Please note: The adult age at Cape Grace Hotel is 12 years and up.

Right in the heart of the city, and yet removed, constructed on a quay at the Victoria and Albert waterfront, the Cape Grace Hotel is equally well positioned to take advantage of the views (of the harbor, the marina, and Table Mountain) and of the convenience of a city center location. It’s hard to find fault with any aspect of this place; it’s a perennial contender for best city hotel in Africa, and with its splendid location, charmingly professional service, and top-notch facilities, it’s no wonder.

There are older and more elegant grand hotels in Cape Town; this one was built in 1996, and there’s a youthful glow to its contemporary stylings, and to its clientele—this is the sort of place locals congregate, especially the restaurant, with its view of the marina and the mountain. Thankfully the rooftop spa (those views again!) is for the use of hotel guests only, and adjacent to that is the newly opened fitness studio.

Rooms are attractive enough, with all the modern conveniences (and some rather fine bath amenities) but it’s in the details that this place truly shines. If you’re in the market, the top-floor penthouse suites are astounding, with private terraces and Jacuzzis. And open to all is the Bascule Bar, for complimentary daily wine tastings, featuring all the best vintages from the thriving Cape vineyards and a menu of some four hundred whiskies from around the world, all served at the edge of the marina. And above all, get out and see the town—the waterfront is the perfect home base, whether you’re up for a night of dining and carousing or a trip to Cape Town’s version of Alcatraz, Robben Island, erstwhile lodging to one Nelson Mandela.

How to get there:
Cape Grace Hotel is approximately a 25 minute drive from Cape Town International Airport. Please contact customerservice@tablethotels.com to arrange airport transfers.
